Doctrinal Statement

Agape Children’s Ministry

At Agape Children’s Ministry, we are guided by the foundational truths of the Christian faith as historically held and adopted at the year 2000 AGM. We affirm the following core doctrines:

1. The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is our final rule for faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

2. God

We believe in one true and living God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—coequal and coeternal. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

3. Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. He ascended to heaven and will return one day in power and glory. (John 1:1,14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:11)

4. The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit convicts of sin, regenerates the sinner, indwells all believers, and empowers them for godly living and service. (John 14:16-17; Romans 8:9; Galatians 5:22-23)

5. Salvation

We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. It is a free gift from God, not earned by works, and is available to all who repent and believe in Him. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 10:9-10; John 3:16)

6. The Church

We believe in the local church as a body of baptized believers, called out to worship, fellowship, disciple, and reach the world with the Gospel. We affirm believer’s baptism by immersion and the observance of the Lord’s Supper. (Acts 2:41-42; Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

7. Baptism.

We believe the church was commanded by the Lord Jesus Christ to baptize those who come to faith in Him. This baptism expresses our union with the Lord’s death, burial, resurrection and new life.

8. Children and the Kingdom

We believe children are precious in the eyes of God. Jesus welcomed and blessed children, and we are committed to their spiritual formation, care, and holistic development. (Matthew 18:1-6; Mark 10:13-16)

Background of Agape Children’s Ministry

Agape Children’s Ministry was founded out of a deep burden to respond to the growing needs of orphaned and vulnerable children affected by HIV and Aids, poverty, abuse, abandonment, and family breakdown. Rooted in Christian values and guided by compassion, Agape began as a small outreach initiative, seeking to provide hope and healing to children who had been left behind by their parents.

Since its inception, Agape has grown into a dynamic, Christ-centered ministry committed to holistic child development. Our focus extends beyond meeting basic needs—we strive to empower other child service providers like individuals, churches and organisations to nurture the spiritual, emotional, physical, and social well-being of child. Through psychosocial support, education, life skills training, and family reintegration efforts, we work to restore dignity, unlock potential, and build strong foundations for a brighter future.

Operating in close partnership with communities, churches, families, and local leaders, Agape Children’s Ministry continues to impact lives—transforming not just individual children, but also the systems and environments around them. Every child we serve is a testimony of God’s love, and we remain steadfast in our mission to raise a generation that is healed, empowered, and rooted in purpose.
