What is Bold Boys Movement?
Agape Children’s Ministry was founded out of a deep burden to respond to the growing needs of orphaned and vulnerable children affected by HIV and Aids, poverty, abuse, abandonment, and family breakdown. Rooted in Christian values and guided by compassion, Agape began as a small outreach initiative, seeking to provide hope and healing to children who had been left behind by their parents.
Since its inception, Agape has grown into a dynamic, Christ-centered ministry committed to holistic child development. Our focus extends beyond meeting basic needs—we strive to empower other child service providers like individuals, churches and organisations to nurture the spiritual, emotional, physical, and social well-being of child. Through psychosocial support, education, life skills training, and family reintegration efforts, we work to restore dignity, unlock potential, and build strong foundations for a brighter future.
Operating in close partnership with communities, churches, families, and local leaders, Agape Children’s Ministry continues to impact lives—transforming not just individual children, but also the systems and environments around them. Every child we serve is a testimony of God’s love, and we remain steadfast in our mission to raise a generation that is healed, empowered, and rooted in purpose.

The Ills in our Society today
When boys and young men lack proper mentorship, guidance, and positive role models, they can easily drift into harmful behaviours or lifestyles as they seek identity, acceptance, significance or escape. Here are some common indulgences or risky behaviours they may fall into:
- Substance Abuse
- Drugs and alcohol are often used to cope with stress, peer pressure, trauma, or to fit in.
- Early exposure can lead to addiction, poor academic performance, and long-term mental health issues.
- Gang Involvement and Violence
- Without belonging or purpose, some boys turn to gangs or street groups for identity, protection, or brotherhood.
- This often leads to violence, criminal records, and incarceration.
- Pornography and Hypersexual Behaviour
- Easy access to online content leads many into porn addiction, which can distort views of intimacy, relationships, and consent.
- Engaging in premature or unsafe sexual activity without understanding consequences is also common.
- Truancy and Academic Disengagement
- Lack of motivation or guidance often leads to dropping out, school absenteeism, or poor performance.
- Without direction, education becomes less valued, affecting future opportunities.
- Toxic Masculinity and Emotional Suppression
- Boys may adopt harmful notions like “real men don’t cry,” leading to bottled-up emotions, anger issues, or violence.
- This also fuels sexism, bullying, and abusive behavior.
- Social Media Addiction and Identity Crisis
- Constant comparison online may create a false sense of self-worth, depression, or anxiety.
- Boys may strive to imitate influencers or personas that glamorize recklessness, wealth, or aggression.
- Gambling and Online Betting
- Many young men fall into sports betting, video game gambling (loot boxes), or casino games hoping for quick money.
- This often leads to financial ruin and addiction.
- Isolation and Mental Health Issues
- Without a support system, some boys internalize their struggles, leading to depression, self-harm, or even suicide.
- Emotional neglect is a silent but deadly indulgence—disconnection from self and society.
- Criminal Behaviour and Petty Theft
- In pursuit of money or status, some boys get involved in theft, scamming, or petty crime.
- Without proper guidance, they may view criminal activity as a legitimate path to success.
Summary:
Without mentorship, boys can easily chase validation, escape, or power in the wrong places. The result is often lost potential, broken families, and long-term personal or societal damage. We are reversing these trends by offering guidance, purpose, and hope.
The Bold Boys Movement is a transformative initiative designed to raise up a generation of boys who are bold in character, leadership, and purpose. Through structured programs, we aim to equip boy and young men especially those from vulnerable communities with the tools and skills they need to become responsible, confident, and God-honouring men.
Core Programs Include:
- Mentorship Circles – Weekly small groups where boys engage with trained male mentors who model integrity, courage, and faith. Topics include identity, emotional intelligence, peer pressure, and spiritual growth.
- Skill & Leadership Development – Practical workshops in areas like public speaking, teamwork, entrepreneurship, digital literacy, and problem-solving, designed to build confidence and career readiness.
- Discipleship & Faith Formation – Bible-based lessons and devotionals tailored for young minds, helping boys grow spiritually and understand their worth and purpose in Christ.
- Community Service & Outreach – Engaging boys in giving back through clean-up projects, elderly visits, and helping peers, fostering a sense of responsibility and peer to peer enrichments.
- Annual Bold Camp – A life-changing retreat that combines adventure, spiritual renewal, leadership training, and brotherhood in a high-energy environment.
